A record number of 14 Archers travelled to Bournemouth to take part in Bournemouth Archery club’s annual National Record Status Blue Lion Tournament on Sunday 17th July. They came away with 8 medals and several Tophies despite the rain and wind.

A St George round ( 3doz arrows at 100yds, 3doz at 80yds and 3doz at 60yds) was shot by Laurence de Wattripont shooting a compound bow scored 808 coming 2nd, Bryan Golden (Compound) 712. Steve Humphrey (Recurve) 532, Mal Thomas (Recurve) 392 and Martin Jones (Longbow) 25. An Albion round (3doz at 80yds, 3doz at 60yds and 3doz at 50yds) was shot by Sandie Baigent (Longbow) 285 coming 1st Lady Longbow.

Junior rounds of different distances according to age were shot. A short Windsor (3x50yds 3x40yds and 3x 30yds) was shot by Felix de Wattripont (Recurve) 560 coming 1st boy, Rebecca Jones (Recurve) 496 coming 3rd girl. A Junior Windsor (3x40yds 3x30yds and 3x20yds) was shot by Emily Thomas (Recurve) 654 coming 2nd Girl, Olivia Humphrey (Recurve) 460 coming 3rd Girl, Isobel de Wattripont (Recurve) 294. A Short Junior Windsor ( 3×30 3×20 3×10) Was shot by Ben Thorpe (Recurve) 631 coming 1st Boy. Also a Cub Windsor (3×20 3×15 3×10) was shot by Caspar de Wattripont (Recurve) 682 coming 1st Boy. Also a Family pair Trophy was presented to Laurence de Wattripont and his 9yr old son Caspar.
