We had a good day at the Anniversary Picnic today and the weather was kind to us if not a little breezy. There was a good turnout with 48 members, past members and friends and it was good to catch up with some old faces again.

A Great set of results for Sway Bowmen out in force!!
6th June 2010 - WATERSIDE OPEN TOURNAMENT
A dozen archers from Sway Bowmen shot at the weekend on a sunny and glorious day at Exbury Gardens for the Waterside Open Tournament and came home with a great performance from all who attended. The seniors even managed to make joint 3rd place with AC Delco for the recurve team (4 archers from any one club). The juniors yet again out in force managed a sterling performance with no less than 5 Golds, 2 Silver, and a 2nd Place for the Junior Recurve Team against mostly Hampshire Team archers, so well done to all of you, a credit to the club!

The top team from Sway Bowmen took on the rest of the world at the Forest of Bere Team Shoot yesterday. It was a tough competition but the Sway Team finished in the top four places. (fourth!). Not sure what Steve was laughing about - any suggestions for a caption?

On Sunday 30th May 9 Archers from Sway Bowmen, including 5 Juniors, attended the Trinity Shoot at AC Delco. Weather was great but very windy causing a few arrows to miss their target. 4 of the Juniors came away with medals.
Results were Steve Humphrey (Recurve) 896, Laurence de Wattripont (Recurve) 884, Bryan Golden (Recurve) 781, Sandie Baigent (LB) 235 and placed 1st Lady Longbow.
Juniors shot Bristol rounds according to age. A Bristol 2 was shot by Felix de Wattripont 835 and placed 1st Junior Boy. A Bristol 3 was shot by Annie Humphrey (Compound) 780 placed 1st Junior compound girl. Austen Stone (Recurve) 697 placed 3rd Junior Boy and a Bristol 4 was shot by Isobel de Wattripont (Recurve) 678 placed 3rd Junior girl, Olivia Humphrey (Recurve) 528.
