The AGM is fast approaching (28th March) and it is that time of the year when we are looking for people to sit on the committee. All the committee positions are open for election and if you think you might be interested in one of the posts please let one of the current committee members know. You are welcome to come along to one of the meetings to see what goes on if you want.
This year we are particularly looking for people to fill the following positions:
Social secretary (Organises social events - skittles, dinners etc)
Public Relations Officer (Sends articles to the local newspaper)
Tournament Organiser (Organises Club shoots, championships and the Mushroom Shoot)
Child Protection Officer (First contact for child protection enquiries)
Events Organiser (This is a new post to look after our corporate type events)
Committee meetings are normally held on the first working Monday of each month. They start at 7:30pm and it unusual if they go on beyond 9:30pm.
Sway Bowmen has recently become a member of ontarget, Archery GB’s new Club Development Programme. Clubs joining ontarget are making a public pledge to be open and friendly, to advance archery and to proactively work with Archery GB and in return clubs will be recognised, rewarded and given support, guidance and advice to develop and improve.
We have applied for a grant under the scheme to lay a reinforced surface to allow wheelchairs easy access to one of the targets at the range.
This years Indoor Championships will be held at New Milton Recreation Centre on Sunday 20th Februay 10:00am to 2:00pm.
