Summer Shooting

There was a good turnout on Wednesday evening and with the beginners course starting as well it was a busy evening at the field. We have 22 beginners on the course this year. Reminder of outdoor shooting: Sunday - Target day - See the events calendar - Greens and Whites to be worn. Wednesday daytime - Target day - See the events calendar - Greens and Whites to be worn. Wednesday evening - Coaching and practice evening - open to all club members. Thursday evening - Club night - Bring your own food for the BBQ! Saturday morning - Coaching and practice - open to all club members.

2007 AGM

The Annual Handicap awards were presented at the AGM yesterday. The winners were: Best Senior handicap improver: George Attard Best Junior handicap improver: Michael Hopkins Best Beginner handicap improver: Julie Towers GNAS handicap medal: Steve Humphrey GNAS Junior handicap medal: Amanda Collier The votes for Club Person of the Year went to Steve Humphrey.

Field Shoot

There will be a field shoot this weekend (Saturday 17th March) at the club's field course, comprising 2x9 animal face targets over a mixture of marked and unmarked distances. The shoot is open to all club members and their guests (who should be members of the GNAS or the NFAS). Assembly is at the Jubilee Fields car park in Sway, by 10:00 am, for a prompt 10:30 start. Please wear warm clothes and footware appropriate to uneven ground, and bring your own drinks and food!

2007 'Steve Gulliver Bursary' award

The winner of the 2007 'Steve Gulliver Bursary' was Mathew Cole from Havant and Hayling Bowmen. Mathew was presented the award by the HAA Chairman Margaret Taylor at the HAA Indoor Championships yesterday. Mathew has recently been accepted to shoot for Great Britain and will be travelling to Lilleshall National Sports Centre every month for squad training. The Bursary will go some way to help him with his expenses.
