Coming Up

Details
Published: 24 July 2008

Don't forget that this Saturday (26th July) we have the Fun Shoot at the field. Lots of fun shooting in different styles at all sorts of unconventional targets. Following the shoot there will be a Tea Party. £2 per person for Tea and Cake with all proceeds going to the Oakhaven Hospice. Wear something beginning with a 'T'. The following weekend (2nd Aug) there will be an archery Bring and Buy sale followed by a Hog Roast.

Visitors at the field

Published: 24 July 2008

Its been a busy month at the field with visits from TVAM (Thames Valley Advanced Motorcyclists) and Christchurch '41 Club (Ex Round Tabler's). On both occasions we set up a mini field archery course making use of the bank to shoot from.

TVAM visitors

Both evenings were very successful and are enjoyable and a good fund raiser for the club.

Aiming off the bank

We received the following email from the 41 Club after the event:

Many thanks to you and your wife, and the other members of your Club for a really enjoyable evening. I knew that the Archers in my group had a good time, but it was not until we got to the Hare & Hounds that I realised that everyone had had a brilliant night of excitement, fun and competition. Your advice training and encouragement were great. The visit to the pub was the icing on the cake, and we were treated well, fed and watered. A superb evening was had by all, and I hope that we can persuade our Club to make this an annual event. Perhaps a challenge to another 'ex Round Tablers' Club'. Although the Pub was excellent, we could perhaps take advantage of your offer of providing substance, and enjoy getting to know you all better.

2008 White Rose Shoot

Details
Published: 07 July 2008
This years White Rose shoot was held at the field yesterday and was well attended with 30 archers shooting despite the heavy rain and wind. It was all too much for the Portsmouth faces and we had to change them for the more robust 80cm faces before we had even started! It was good to see so many beginners there and we hope the weather didn't put them off too much. It was a mixed pairs shoot with names drawn from a hat. The results were: 1st place - Bryan and Lawrence 2nd - Ian and Trevor 3rd - Mel and Sandie
